In April 2017, Learning Network West (LNW) commissioned 3rd Horizons Ltd to undertake a short piece of research into practice teaching and practice learning in the west of Scotland.  The study focused on current practice within the 13 partner local authorities.  The purpose was to:

  • understand current practice in relation to practice teaching and learning in the thirteen local authorities within our partnership
  •  identify key enablers and barriers in the development and effectiveness of practice teaching in the west of Scotland
  • distinguish and profile good models of practice teaching and learning.

The research was overseen by a small Steering Group comprised of:

Anne Conlin - Learning Network West

Darren Chapman - Learning Network West

David Ramsay - Inverclyde Health & Social Care Partnership

Pat MacCowan - Scottish Social services (SSSC)

Sharon Atkinson - Argyle & Bute Council

Sybil Lang - Scotland's Colleges
