We want to draw your attention to the 11th International Conference on Practice Learning and Field Education, which is being held in Belfast in April 2016 in association with Queens University Belfast.
This is a major international conference of interest to anyone involved with the professional development of students in any field of health or social care and will focus on evaluating learning and assessment of performance.
Supporting students in practice settings is an integral part of the preparation of health and social care professionals. Practice and Field Educators enable students to acquire, develop, apply and transfer educational knowledge, skills and attributes to support their learning within the workplace learning environment. In the current complex world of health and social care, students not only have to develop competencies for uni-professional practice, but they must also learn how to learn and work together collaboratively. Assessment of interprofessional learning and collaborative competence raises additional complex issues which have to be addressed.
This looks as though it will be a great event, and we would encourage colleagues to attend - but please also consider submitting a paper or presentation too. The organisers are particularly looking for proposals that deal with interprofessional approaches to assessment. Proposals for paper presentations, symposia, workshops/interactive sessions, or posters/exhibits are welcome. Ideas that extend beyond these areas will also be considered. Proposals for papers and workshops should be submitted by Friday 8th January 2016.
