The 2020 Independent Care Review findings were welcomed by all seeking improvement in what social workers do for vulnerable children and their families. With implementation now being rolled out, the second in our series examining social work from a critical and radical standpoint, will look at the Review and how we reached this crossroads. Short presentations will be made by:
- Invitation extended to the Promise Implementation Team
- Avril McIvor Senior Teaching Fellow and registered Social Worker from Edinburgh University social work school
- Kate Ramsden, leading Scottish Unison activist and Children’s Rights Officer from Aberdeenshire who will co-present with some care experienced young people who have helped shape services in their area
This will be followed by questions and discussion.
